Shadowverse deck without legendaries12/5/2023 ![]() ![]() Every "Treasure Trove of Rupees" event I hope and pray that I could be one of the lucky winners, even a second place prize, so that I'd never have to worry about this ever again. If I could spend money on this game, I would, and that'd be the end of it and I'd be happy, but I can't. No thanks to Covid shutting down my ability to do something about that for the past over a year. I'm just not a point in my life where I can financially justify/have enough disposable income to spend on this game. I hope and pray that come next expansion, I don't have to quit again and continue this cycle. I still play because since I've played since the beginning of the game, I've built up enough of a foundation that allows me to bypass most of the F2P hump, and sometimes, rarely, I do enjoy playing Unlimited. But it's an absolutely toxic relationship because of the previous factors I mentioned and it is not beginner or a F2P friendly game in the slightest. The amount of analyzing I do, predictions, how I can tell exactly what cards a person will play on each of their turns multiple turns in advance and how I can counteract it or what I need to do to win, how hard it makes my brain work, etc. Why don't I just quit entirely then? This game is fun, it really is, I love it and I enjoy it a ton and I can't get this same feeling and joy that I do playing this game in other card games. (Even if it's a complete 50/50 tossup game mode VS actual skill.) I enjoy Rotation much more, but I don't have the money to be able to enjoy Rotation outside of these short periods. During that downtime, I'm forced to play Unlimited, the cesspit variant of the game, but the only variant I can be competitively viable in 100% of the time. I have to wait for the next few expansions for there to be a 100% meta shift/have built up enough currency to finally go all in and create a new deck. So I stop playing because the game isn't fun when you auto-lose 9/10 of your games just because you're running a welfare variant of a deck, or because the current meta is trash to play in. Why so much quitting? Come next expansion, I don't have the money to build the next flavor of the month deck, or I don't like the meta. I quit after Rise of Bahamut, I came back for Verdant Conflict, I quit after Ultimate Colosseum, I came back for Storm Over Rivayle, I quit after Eternal Awakening. The rest of this expansion will be spent stockpiling rupees for the mini-expansion/next expansion to hopefully have enough in game currency/get lucky enough to be able to build the next flavor of the month deck that's competitively viable. I picked Machina Portalcraft because it lacked any Fortune's Hand cards in it (the next expansion that will rotate), so this deck COULD be viable for up to 6 months vs just 3. I have to pick which tier 1 deck I think will stay viable for the longest amount of time and that I'd have fun with because of my lack of money. If I want to try out the rest of the tier 1 decks, I can't, I don't have the cards or the vials to craft them. All of this effort for a deck that has at the bare minimum 2 to 3 months lifespan tops. If I didn't have that, I would not be able to play this deck, I'd be short a few cards.Īll of this effort for a Tier 1 deck that may not even stay Tier 1 once the mini-expansion comes out, or even exist in the meta or be vialbe once the next expansion comes. And this is AFTER the Temporary Deck ticket helping me out on top of it. I opened up a total of 62 Renascent Chronicles card packs and 62 Darkness Over Vellsar card packs, (funny coincidence that it just so happened to be the same amount for both) I had to use up all my vials, and I BARELY had enough to create this deck. The new story mode rewards I had not earned yet since I last quit. I had enough gemstones to buy 3 "temporary" (honestly technically permanent, you're just not allowed to liquefy them) legendary cards. I had 20k vials to craft cards going into this expansion from before I quit. The "Temporary Deck Ticket" they hand out at the beginning of the expansion (the cards it gives you expire once the next expansion comes about). The free battle pass rewards up until this point. The entire daily 5 treasure chests from playing ranked event. The entire "Treasure Trove of Rupees" event's free tickets and rupees. The new expansion daily login for 8 days for 8 pack tickets total. The 10 complementary new expansion free pack tickets. I'm only just getting to play the Machina Portalcraft deck I've made. I'm coming back after having quit the Eternal Awakening expansion, right as the Renascent Chronicles expansion launched. It is pay to win, absolutely, without a doubt.
